Curriculum

The Human Biology Program engages students in developing a scientific understanding of human biology. The courses prepare students for careers in medicine, health science, and biomedical science. Human Biology students take courses from four general categories: (1) introductory science and math, (2) core disciplines in Human Biology, (3) Human Biology selectives, and (4) general electives and university requirements. 

NOTICE ON CURRICULUM CHANGE: 

The Bachelor of Science in Human Biology has undergone a curriculum change effective for the Spring 2026 Semester and beyond

Returning students who already declared their B.S. in Human Biology in Fall 2025 or prior will continue in Old Curriculum. However, any returning student who is currently pursuing another major who wishes to change their major in Spring 2026 and beyond must follow the New Curriculum. Returning students who wish to pursue either an additional major or 2nd B.S. in Human Biology during Spring 2026 and beyond must also follow the New Curriculum.

To summarize:

  • Declared Human Biology Major Fall 2025 or prior = Old Curriculum
  • Declare Human Biology Major Spring 2026 or after = New Curriculum
